{"id":67,"date":"2019-04-21T02:12:17","date_gmt":"2019-04-21T02:12:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/137.27.16.109\/?page_id=67"},"modified":"2022-09-21T13:43:23","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T13:43:23","slug":"frequently-asked-questions-faq","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tennesseeonlinedriving.us\/?page_id=67","title":{"rendered":"Frequently Asked Questions &#8211; FAQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have a question not included or answered below?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Click on the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/tennesseeonlinedriving.us\/questions.php\">Have Questions?<\/a>&#8221; link on the menu at the top of this page.\u00a0 \u00a0 We will respond as quickly as possible.\u00a0 \u00a0 Thank you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After registering and paying for the course, I was returned to the wrong page.\u00a0 How do I start the course?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong>Answer:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">We are sorry if you are having any difficulties; however, simply click on the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennesseeonlinedriving.net\">Returning Students<\/a>&#8221; link on the menu at the top of this page and you will be taken to the course login page.\u00a0 Then enter\u00a0 the user name and password you created.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>How long is the course?<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>Answer:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">As required by law and Department of Safety requirements, the driver safety course is designed to take approximately 4 hours to complete.\u00a0 \u00a0You must have accumulated study time of at least 3 hours and 30 minutes prior to being allowed to take the final exam and you are allowed 30 minutes credit for taking the final exam although you have up to 60 minutes to complete the exam.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>When is the course available?<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>Answer:\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The online course is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and does not need to be completed in one sitting; however, once a quiz or exam is started it must be completed within 60 minutes.\u00a0 \u00a0After completing the payment and registration process, you will be emailed a direct link to start and stop the course at your convenience.\u00a0 \u00a0 Once you complete the course, your completion certificate should be emailed to you within a few minutes.\u00a0 \u00a0 It is in pdf format and can be downloaded and printed.\u00a0 \u00a0It is also available from your home page which appears after you log in.\u00a0 \u00a0Therefore, it is very important to make certain your email address is entered correctly when you register for the online course.\u00a0 \u00a0You should print out your completion certificate and forward it to the clerk of the referring court along with any court costs, if any, to make certain you are given credit for completing the course.\u00a0 \u00a0 Additionally, we send a monthly report to the clerk of each court referring people to our course as evidence of their completion of the course.<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/em><strong><em>Also, please note that you should check your profile to make sure all your information, i.e., name, address, etc., is correct before taking the final exam.\u00a0 \u00a0Once you take the final exam, your completion certificate cannot be changed or modified without contacting us to assist you.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Do I have to complete the course all in one sitting or can I start and stop?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong>Answer:\u00a0<\/strong> \u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The online course is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and does not need to be completed in one sitting; however, once a quiz or exam is started it must be completed within 60 minutes.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Your time in the course is automatically logged by the system, and you may start and stop the course at your convenience.\u00a0 \u00a0Work a few minutes or hours, log out and start back when you log back in. You may jump to any point in the course by going to the &#8220;Outline&#8221; section of the course (located at the top of your screen after &#8220;launching&#8221; course). You may also check your accumulated study time at the bottom of the &#8220;Outline&#8221; page.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I cannot access the final exam.\u00a0 \u00a0It says &#8220;exam cannot yet be taken&#8221;.\u00a0 \u00a0What is the problem?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong>Answer:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">As required by law and Department of Safety requirements, the driver safety course is designed to take approximately 4 hours to complete.\u00a0 \u00a0You must have accumulated study time of at least 3 hours and 30 minutes prior to being allowed to take the final exam and you are allowed 30 minutes credit for taking the final exam although you have up to 60 minutes to complete the exam.\u00a0 \u00a0 As reading speeds, educational background and comprehension vary with each individual, some people may be capable of covering all the material a little quicker than the required time.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0And, other people who may read slower or have less education, may take much longer than the minimum time required. In any event, we <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">cannot override the <strong>MINIMUM<\/strong><\/span> time requirements regardless of how quickly someone says that they finished studying the course materials.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I accidentally registered for two different courses.\u00a0 \u00a0Can I get a refund?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Answer:<\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Certainly.\u00a0 \u00a0 Either send us an email or contact us through the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/tennesseeonlinedriving.us\/questions.php\">Questions<\/a>&#8221; link, and we will be happy to assist you.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Does this course reduce or remove points I already have on my Tennessee drivers license?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Answer:<\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u00a0 Yes, but only if you received a letter or notice from the Tennessee Department of Safety requiring you to take a <strong>FOUR<\/strong> <strong>(4) hour defensive driving course<\/strong> because you received a ticket or citation and the Department of Safety is giving you an opportunity to have the points removed by taking a 4 hour course.\u00a0 \u00a0However, if you received a letter from the Department of Safety requiring you to take an 8 hour course due to a bad driver history, then this course does not fulfill that requirement.\u00a0 \u00a0If you received a letter requiring you to take an 8 hour course, then the Department of Safety requires the attendance of an eight (8) hour <strong>in classroom<\/strong> course.\u00a0 \u00a0You CANNOT complete this requirement through an online course.\u00a0 \u00a0 However, as is the case with most people referred to our website, if you were <strong>referred by the Department of Safety or a Tennessee Court<\/strong> to our online course, then this course is acceptable for your purposes.\u00a0 Normally when Courts allow people to take an online course in lieu of points or a conviction, then no report is usually filed with the Department of Safety and therefore, no points are placed against your drivers license in the first place.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I found your course through an internet search.\u00a0 Is your online course accepted in every Tennessee Court?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Answer:<\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Our online course is licensed, approved and regulated by the Tennessee Department of Safety for use in all courts in the State of Tennessee.\u00a0 \u00a0However, since Judges and clerks have broad discretion for what is accepted in their Court, it is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>VERY IMPORTANT<\/strong><\/span> for you to contact the Clerk of the Court to make sure they will allow you to complete an online course <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>BEFORE<\/strong><\/span> registering for any course.\u00a0 \u00a0 If the Court referred you to our course and website, then they will accept our online course, but if you should have any questions, you should contact the Court clerk for clarification.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I live in Tennessee, but received a ticket\/citation in another State.\u00a0 \u00a0Can I take this course to satisfy their driving school requirement?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Answer:<\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">As in Tennessee, not all Judges or jurisdictions will accept online courses.\u00a0 \u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">BEFORE<\/span><\/strong> registering for our online course, you should contact the Court in the jurisdiction where you received your ticket or citation, and ask them if they would allow you to take our online course to satisfy their requirements.\u00a0 You should tell them our course is a 4 hour online course, not an in-classroom course, and that it is approved by the State of Tennessee Department of Safety.\u00a0 \u00a0If you are allowed to take our online course, you can register for the general course for Statewide use rather than a specific jurisdiction by clicking <a href=\"https:\/\/tennesseeonlinedriving.us\">HERE<\/a>.\u00a0 \u00a0 When you create a user name and enter your information, you should list the court and jurisdiction (e.g., Traffic Court, Anytown, State) in the field &#8220;Ticket\/Citation No.&#8221; so that we will know you completed the course for a Court outside of the State of Tennessee.\u00a0 \u00a0Contact us if you should have any further questions\/comments.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I failed the final exam.\u00a0 \u00a0 Can I retake the exam and is there any additional charge?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Answer:<\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">If you fail the final exam, you are allowed to retake it once without contacting us.\u00a0 \u00a0 If you are having some difficulty with our course, is there anything we can do to assist you?\u00a0 \u00a0If so, please contact us using email or the <a href=\"https:\/\/tennesseeonlinedriving.us\/questions.php\">&#8220;Questions&#8221;<\/a> link.\u00a0 \u00a0Sometimes people try to rush through the exam.\u00a0 \u00a0 We recommend that you take your time and carefully consider each question and the available answers.\u00a0 \u00a0You may also want to study the materials further.\u00a0 \u00a0You have unlimited access to the course for ninety (90) days and we can extend that time at no additional cost, should you need additional time.\u00a0 \u00a0 If you should fail the final exam a second time, we can reset the system to allow you to retake a new final exam and proceed with the course.\u00a0 \u00a0 If you should fail it a third time, an instructor will have to review your accumulated study records and time spent reviewing each section of the course before we can reset it for another attempt.\u00a0 \u00a0If your accumulated study time and records are deemed insufficient, you may not be allowed to complete the course online without referring the matter to the Judge or referring Court for further consideration and approval.\u00a0 \u00a0 Lastly, of course, there is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>NO<\/strong><\/span> <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">additional charge<\/span><\/strong> for retaking exams or for any assistance we may provide.\u00a0 \u00a0If you are having any problems, please do not hesitate to contact us for help.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have a question not included or answered below?
